Together, these plastics provide the initial protection and preservation of the ensiled product. We also supply silage covers. These are used to protect the agricultural plastic from, for example, birds or dogs walking over the silage pit.

To keep the plastic and silage covers in place, lashing straps can be used in combination with gravel silo bags. These days, more and more farmers are replacing car tyres with gravel or sand silo bags. We can also supply these pre-filled.

Gravel silo bags

At FVR-Trading, we sell filled and/or empty gravel silo bags in every size you could possibly want, at the most competitive prices. If you want a light and small bag, we have the 70x26 gravel silo bag. If you want a heavy and long bag, we have the 120x26 gravel silo bag. 

We also sell sand hoses in the same sizes, should you prefer to work with sand rather than gravel. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages; if you would like more information on this, please feel free to contact us.

Silage protection covers

At FVR-Trading, we sell silage protection covers in three different qualities at the most competitive prices, including the Nicosil brand. We sell our silage covers in 220, 260 and 300 g/m². The higher the g/m² rating, the denser the weave of the cover. This enhances the strength of the silage cover, but is also practical for ensuring that birds cannot peck through it. We sell sizes ranging from 5x10 to 15x18; if you require a specific size, please contact us to discuss the options.

Agricultural silo films

At FVR-Trading, we sell agricultural silo films in 3 different thicknesses at the most competitive prices. These are 120, 150 and 200 microns. As you’ve come to expect from us, we sell this in various sizes, and directly from stock. This means you can still buy your plastic from us at the last minute, at a competitive price and with the guarantee that it will be delivered the next working day.
